Russian Politics - where it will turn out?

President Vladimir Putin is about to be replaced, as election date is in earlier March 2008. Medvedev is probably the man who will occupy the president chair, however we are not sure if Medvedev will take over real power control.
The closer we are to the election date - the better we understand who is who (in Russian this in uncensored word by pronouncing)
In all the countries politics are the arena of drama and low predictability. Russians are trying to reverse the trend and make the chair transferrable, even through president election process -the are good in mathematics and especially statistics
We expect Medvedev to be elected and Putin to be in free decision on where to go to the nice retirement path or take over prime minister chair
