We already placed our introduction article about Novinki church, built between 1807 and 1822. This village is located near so called Sterzhenski Pogost, very ancient strong hold of Novgorod Republic, one of the Russian states existed in the Northern Western Russia in IX-XVI centuries
Church and its bell tower is very picturesque and romantic places, located near the bank of the lake Sterzh. As you can see from the photo - the building is in ruins or almost in ruins, but in our opinion it could be relatively easily restored by cleaning up the walls, repainting and reassembling the dome above the church itself
Novinki is the first large village on the upper Volga river waters and Sterzh is respectively the first large upper Volga lake
