SAP B1 is wonderful very modern and nicely designed small and mid-size business ERP, Accounting and MRP application, which fits to majority of industries and niches, including horizontal and vertical. It is localized for long list of international markets, and as such it should be considered as overseas international branches ERP solution. In this small publication we are concentrating on Rental contracts implementation options:
1. SAP B1 Service module. Here you have ERP logic for Warranty contracts, where you have serial numbered item, which you sell on warranty contract to your customers. Then, during the warranty contract coverage period you service the item - release spare parts, send technicians onsite. Plus, you have the option for technicians to log the case notes.
2. Item transferring to technician. This transaction allows you to allocate items to service contract and then return them back to your on hand inventory of spare parts
3. Rental Contracts. Consider having special inventory: rented out for the items that you rent. In combination with Warranty contact functionality rented out inventory should be able to automate typical rental contract scenario
