FRx: Great Plains Dynamics GP Financial Reporting notes: Profit and Loss Statement- Alba Spectrum
 Alba Spectrum
If you are VP of Finance, Controller, or IT manager in your organization, financial reporting is one of your key indicators, and if your corporation deploys Microsoft Dynamics GP Great Plains as corporate ERP and MRP, please read about FRx financial reporting for Great Plains in this small publication, intended as orientation session
 1. Dynamics GP reporting. Here you have multiple tools: FRx (excellent option for the reporting originating in Great Plains General Ledger: P&L, Balance Sheep, Statement of Cash flow, Consolidated financial reporting), Great Plains Report Writer (industrial reports: Sales Order Processing, AR and AP Aging, Trial Balances, Historical Stock Status in Inventory, SOP Invoice Form with your graphical logo, etc), Crystal Reports (theoretically it is boundless, however it typically requires SQL basing select statement, complex SQL stored procedure or view, so please check if you have these skills in-house or from your Dynamics GP VAR), Quick Financials (in essence this is Great Plains Dexterity module for Dynamics GP, where you potentially could quickly generate Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statement, in our opinion FRx does better job, however Quick Financials is the tool of choice for Great Plains Small Business Financials - Small Business version of Dynamics GP)
2. FRx for Great Plains Dynamics GP and other ERP and MRP applications. FRx financial reporting is available for various accounting and ERP applications: Dynamics GP, Axapta Dynamics AX, Solomon Dynamics SL. FRx idea fix, or how it made its success - it has very efficient connector to your ERP General Ledger, opening up your Account Master, quickly giving you summarization from GL summary tables, and providing drill down to your GL source transactions. Of course FRx can export to Excel, XML, Tab Delimited Text format, but these are bells and whistles, comparing to the functionalities and features above
3. P&L Statement design for Dynamics GP in FRx. Here you have all the options, that you typically are looking for: 12 months P&L, Current Year comparing to Previous Year, Current Year comparing to Current Year Budget (by Months), in Great Plains Dynamics GP you can have multiple budgets and FRx reporter allows you to select which budgets you could like to compare with
4. Great Plains Consolidated Statements in FRx. FRx has Reporting tree, where you can choose business units, coming from Great Plains Dynamics or even Excel spreadsheets. If you are Multinational corporation with headquarters in USA or Canada, you can decide to implement SAP Business One in such exotic countries as Brazil, Russia, China, India, Korea, Indonesia and have SB1 branches consolidated in FRx financial reporting
