SAP Business One Chicago, San Diego, Atlanta: MRP and ERP application for small or midsize business - Alba Spectrum
 Alba Spectrum
We are opening new rubric of ERP and MRP selection articles for mid-size and small business. The purpose is mostly educational, with invitation to see small business Corporate ERP selection demo and presentation. Today's topic is SAP Business One. We sell SB1 USA and Canada nationwide plus in Brazil, where we have our SB1 Software Development Factory. Local service is available in Illinois, Georgia, South Carolina. If you already have SB1 implemented in your organization, we are offering technology oriented remote support: customizations, integrations, reporting, add-ons development If your small or mid-size business requires Manufacturing Resource Planning and Enterprise Resource Planning in addition to regular accounting, and you are at the point when you outgrew small business out-of-the-shelf accounting: PeachTree, QuickBooks, MYOB, we recommend you to take a look or better request executive and in-depth functional and technical presentation of SAP Business One, often also referred in abbreviation as SAP B1, SB1 or SBO. This small publication should be initial introduction, feel free to contact us for additional information:

1. General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Payable. Here you should expect such standard things as Chart of Accounts, Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statement, Fiscal Periods, Users and Security settings. One of the integration features we would like you to notice - every view screen is exportable to Excel, you can add or remove fields from the table, associated with the view. Customers and Vendors are implemented as Business Partners in SAP B1, and you can do customer-vendor consolidation - clear up customer checks, or checks to the vendors toward customer and vendor outstanding balances (typically you create Customer and Vendor ID associated with one partner). If you are in freight forwarding industry we recommend you to think about building Monthly Shipper Settlement report upon SAP BO Customer Vendor consolidation functionality
2. Manufacturing and MRP. SAP B1 has Bill of Materials (including disassembly BOM) with manual or automatic MRP restocking (with various parameters, including vendor response time, alternative components) - functionality should fit to variety of discrete manufacturing firms
3. Warranty Contracts. You can optionally associate Contract with Item Serial Number. Warranty coverage could include billable or free parts, hourly services, expenses. If you are in rentals business, we recommend you to use warranty contracts with Transfer to Technician and then Received from Technician to move item from ready to be rented Warehouse to Rented location and back
4. Customer Relation Management or CRM functionality. Here you should see your sales people to enter new lead info, track opportunities, create Quotes and Sales Orders, and then when deal is closed transform Lead to Customer business partner. SB1 has currently all-in-one named user licensing schema and for CRM only users you typically have discounted user license
