Online access needed to have a fee according to New York Times

Kowloon Johnson

In order to balance their online advertising revenue, New York Times decided to start charging their readers once they access their site. Last Wednesday this report has been transmitted for their reader across the world. However one thing disadvantage about this is that their reader will definitely go to other free sites and decline to pay for a fee just to access the website.

In a recent study, Forrester Research found that most people in the U.S. will not pay for online access to newspaper and magazine articles and other content. In that study, 80 percent of the 4,700 U.S. readers polled said they would not pay.

However readers who are willing to pay for the online access needed more than just to see the online classifieds but to have a complete access and wanting one fee for online, print and mobile access and another group preferring micro payments. This might work or not, as New York Times is one of the most popular newspapers around the world, yet if it's gained a positive remarked it may be a trend and perhaps other online classifieds in another country like Australian
