1. Great Plains Dexterity. Originally Great Plains Dynamics was introduced as Corporate ERP application coded in special programming environment - Dexterity and Dex in turn was designed as the shell, coded in C programming language. Having said that - Dexterity has ultimate power to customize Microsoft Dynamics GP user interface, database connection and even integrations. At this time probably the majority of Dynamics GP ISV Partners products or add-ons to Great Plains are programmed in Dexterity Sanscript language. Dexterity customization support and upgrade often requires access to so-called Source Code (only limited circle of Dynamics GP Partners have access to the Source Code as it requires high participation in contribution and certifications)
2. Dynamics GP and Barcoding. Typically you need Barcoding extensions, such as Warehouse Management System (WMS). If you are in retail business and looking for GP as your Accounting application, we recommend you to look at Microsoft RMS as POS (Point of Sale) - where Barcode scanners are supported
3. Dynamics GP Upgrade and old versions support. If you are on any Great Plains version: Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, 10.0, 9.0, 8.0, 7.5, 7.0, Great Plains Dynamics 6.0, 5.5, 5.0, 4.0, 3.2 (including Great Plains Select on Pervasive SQL/Btrieve or Ctree) or Great Plains Accounting for DOS, Windows or Mac 9.5, 9.2, 9.1 or earlier - we are here to support you
