eCommerce was long time in murky air, especially for Small businesses deploying Micrsoft Dynamics GP Great Plains. Alba Spectrum designed and succesfully deployed eCommerce module for Great Plains, which integrates ecommerce shopping carts in quasi real time and in real time
If you are planning to integrate your existing eCommerce web site with Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP application, we would like to give you ecommerce extension functionality highlights. First observation - it is reasonable to deploy proven ecommerce chopping carts, available for purchase on ecommerce software market, if this is your case, we have shopping cart integration connectors. However, even if you decided to develop your own shopping cart from scratches in Microsoft Visual Studio or in Linux/PHP - it is possible to program custom connector with reasonable coding budget
1. eCommerce setup wizard. We would like to introduce rapid implementation scenario, where ecommerce module could be switched on virtually in few hours by your IT professional, assuming that you are using standard eCommerce functionality and no modifications and custom programming required. We plan to add in short future similar shopping cart selection option for our Microsoft RMS integration module, where POS transactions are similar in their nature to eCommerce shopping cart
2. eCommerce shopping cart image in Dynamics GP. It is naturally to transform shopping cart to Sales Order Processing Invoice or Sales Order. In SOP Invoice or Order you can decide to allocate line items automatically or use separate line fulfillment process (by Document, Batch or via Fulfillment Order). If you decide to allocate via separate procedure, we would like to demo you how to allocate via Alba Spectrum Warehouse Management System extension for Dynamics GP. In WMS you typically have your user interface running on Barcode scanner screen. 3. B2B and B2C scenarios. In B2B you may decide to expose customer or business partner specific price list with tiered discounts and promotional pricing. The simplest way is to deploy eCommerce application B2B pricing, however you can request moderate custom programming for our ecommerce integration module to control business partner specific pricing in Dynamics GP and push it back to ecommerce web application. B2C schema could be realized for so-called walk-in customer, where if desired you could keep shipping address in eCommerce only or even push it to Dynamics GP as Walk-In Customer new address
4. eCommerce extension background technology layer. It is Alba Spectrum Order Connector, or set of super speeding and efficient SQL stored procedure, pushing your ecommerce shopping cart to Dynamics GP SOP10100, SOP10200 and other Sales Transaction related tables
5. Internationalization aspect in Dynamics GP eCommerce implementation. You should review Dynamics GP localization status for your country. Great Plains is localized for English speaking countries, or countries, where English is the language of business: USA, Canada, Australia, UK, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland. It is also available in Spanish for most of the Latin American countries, including Caribbean. Great Plains has also popular version in Arabic, which could be also ported to Dari or Persian (based on Arabic alphabet: Afghanistan, Iran). Great Plains is not localized in such countries or regions, as Brazil, China, Japan, Russia, Germany (except older versions). In case in you need ecommerce integration to your Corporate ERP in the countries, where GP is not localized, we recommend you to review other ERP and MRP platforms, such as SAP Business One, for example.
